What kind of services do you offer?
We offer graphic design for both print and web, web development, illustration and multimedia development. Please see our Services page for a comprensive list of our services.
What do you charge for your services?
This varies greatly depending on the size and complexity of the project and what is involved. We strive to charge reasonable rates in order to remain competitive. Contact us for an estimate on your project.
What areas do you service?
We are based in Ballarat, Victoria, however we have many clients outside this area. We are happy to service clients in Melbourne, Geelong, Bendigo and other areas of Victoria, provided most communication is by phone, fax, email and post.
What is the client's involvement in the design and development process?
The client is the most important part of the design and development process - after all it is your project. Our job is to work with you to see your project materialise from an idea through to fruition, and your feedback is the most valuable tool to achieve an end result which meets all of your objectives.
I'd like to get some design work done - what should I do?
Give us a call, send us an email or drop into our studio. We will meet with you either in person or over the phone and discuss your requirements in detail. We will guide you through the process of developing your project, and ask you for any information required to complete the job. We will give you concepts to select from, and continue developing the project until it meets your needs, within the boundaries of the quote.
Do you offer printing services?
Yes - we have a network of printers and we shop around for each individual job to get the best price for our client. We liaise with the printer and can deliver your printed material on completion of the project if you are in the Ballarat area, or post/courier to you if you are outside the Ballarat area.
If you prefer, for a small fee we can liaise with a printer of your choice.
Do you offer photography services?
Yes - we have a photographer we work with whom you can contract out at an hourly rate if required.
Do you offer copywriting services?
Yes - we have an inhouse copywriter.
Can I add other elements to my project such as letterheads, stationery, brochures, a website, etc?
Yes - at Newman Creative our aim is to give your business a consistent look and feel for that professional edge - please see our corporate identity page for more information on this. Projects with multiple facets but the same look and feel are generally less expensive as the work for each element overlaps - for example, if you required a logo, letterhead and business card, this would be less expensive to have done altogether than as individual projects.
How should I provide content and artwork to you?
You can email your material to our design team, or alternatively post it to our mailing address. All material should be supplied in digital format where possible.
|
All text should be typed or additional fees may apply. |
|
For printwork - artwork should be a minimum of 300dpi or at the highest quality possible. Generally the bigger the filesize the better. Artwork can be provided in any of the following file formats: tif, eps, ai or psd. |
|
For web work - artwork should be high quality, in any of the following file formats: tif, eps, ai, psd, gif or jpeg. |
What is the turn-around time for my design
project?
The answer to this question depends on many
factors, such as the nature of the project - is
it a website, print design, an illustration or
a multimedia project? How complex is the project?
What volume of material is involved? How ready
is the material to be published? We aim to deliver
projects as quickly as we can, however we need
to discuss your requirements in detail before
we can specify a timeframe.
How will I receive my design project once it is finished?
This depends on the type of project. For a print or illustration project, you will be provided with the final printed product. Logos can be provided to you in the various formats as listed below, by email or on CD. For a web project, the end product will be uploaded to your website. Multimedia projects will be supplied on CD - we can make duplicates and/or design covers if required.
Can I get my logo in different file formats?
Yes - we can provide your logo in any of the standard file formats at your request ie. tif, gif, jpeg, psd, ai, eps or pdf format.
How can I save money on developing my project?
You can save money by supplying your material digitally, in the formats specified above. Supplying your text already typed and supplying your images as high quality will save us time, therefore save you money. Also see Can I add other elements to my project such as letterheads, stationery, brochures, a website, etc?.
Can you register a domain name for my website?
Yes - we can register any available domain name at a small fee. Note that for .com.au domain names there are particular government policies that must be adhered to. For more information on this see www.auda.org.au/policy/policy.
Can
you host my website?
Yes - we have hosting packages available, generally
to clients whose websites we have designed and developed.
Prices vary depending on the size of the site and
estimated traffic.
As a reseller of webspace we are able to offer our clients competitive pricing with the assurance that the servers are maintained through a network of technical experts. All sites are currently hosted at the Powertel Data Centre in Brisbane which also hosts some of Australia's largest Telcos.
What development tools do you use?
For print design and illustration we use the Adobe suite - Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat. For web design we use Illustrator, PhotoShop and Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash. For web development we predominantly use PHP, HTML, JavaScript and mySQL databases. For multimedia development we predominantly use Flash.
What types of payment do you accept?
We give a 14 day invoice for most of our work, and accept payment by cheque, bank transfer or cash. Some printwork may require COD, and for some larger jobs we may ask for part payment upfront.
What projects have you completed recently?
We have worked on a broad range of projects - please refer to our Portfolio for details and samples of these.
